Louis van Gaal is looking to beef up his midfield options this summer and Man United have been linked with Schweinsteiger for a number of weeks.
Di Maria arrived at Old Trafford last year for a club record £59m fee but he struggled during his debut season at United.
However, Pep Guardiola is still said to be keen on the Argentine and he has sanctioned a cash plus player move.
United have a strong interest in Schweinsteiger but is highly unlikely that they will allow Di Maria to leave so soon after paying big money for him.
The player himself has also stated in recent weeks that he wants to remain at United in order to prove himself next term.
It is safe to say that there is nothing in this rumour. Di Maria is a world-class talent and is too good of a player not to turn things around. United would be foolish to let him flourish elsewhere.
