Here’s the latest Manchester United transfer news and gossip.
There was a big development in the Sergio Ramos saga on Wednesday and it doesn’t look like there will be a conclusion to it any time soon.
First of all, reports from AS suggested that the Spaniard had met up with Real Madrid officials to discuss his future.
The two parties had been negotiating a new contract for the player but Madrid are said to be unwilling to pay Ramos the €10m yearly wage that he wants.
As a result, the 29-year-old has told Madrid that he wants to leave the club and that they should listen to any offers for him. The claims appeared to be backed by Pedro Riesco, who works with Ramos’ brother and agent Rene, as he suggested that it would now be “difficult” for Ramos to stay at Madrid.
Elsewhere, the speculation surrounding Angel di Maria resurfaced again, with journalist Duncan Castles claiming that Barcelona are interested in signing the Argentine.
However, it is safe to say these rumours can be put to bed as the player himself gave an interview to Ole Newspaper where he insisted that he will stay at United despite a difficult debut season at Old Trafford.
