Sergio Ramos has told Real Madrid that he wants to leave the club and that they should listen to offers for him, according to AS.
The Spaniard has two years to run on his current contract at the Bernabeu and the two parties were in negotiations to extend the deal.
However, Madrid are not prepared to pay Ramos the €10m a year he has asked for.
Madrid instead offered him €7m, but Ramos wants to be the club’s third-highest earner behind Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale.
Negotiations between the two parties have broken down as a result and Ramos has now indicated that he wants to leave the Spanish side.
Manchester United have been heavily linked with the 29-year-old in recent days and the news will give them a boost in their pursuit of him.
Unfortunately, it looks like they will have to part with David de Gea if they want to prise Ramos away from Madrid. The latest reports suggest that United have offered Madrid a €75m deal for the defender which includes De Gea.
