Manchester United outcast Nani is set for a medical at Turkish club Fenerbahce and is expected to complete his move soon.
The 28-year-old is believed to be heading to Turkey for a fee in the region of €5.5 million and all that is left is the signature and a medical at the club, according to Gianluca di Marzio.
The Portuguese attacker spent last season on loan at Sporting Lisbon having fallen out of favour at Old Trafford under David Moyes and Louis van Gaal.
Nani scored seven goals in 27 appearances for Sporting and Fenerbahce are believed to have been monitoring his progress for the last six months with an eye on a deal this summer.
They have convinced United to sell reasonably low on a player that they signed for €25 million.
Both sides of the negotiations knew that Nani had no future at United and all that was left to do was convince the player.
The signing of Memphis Depay sent Nani further down the pecking order at United this summer than he had previously been.
With Angel di Maria set to remain at the club beyond his debut season and Adnan Januzaj also staying, Nani’s best chance of playing football was with a move away from Old Trafford.
At 28, Nani has time on his hands and the quality needed to forge a career outside of United and a move to Fenerbahce should help him do just that.
