It feels like only a few weeks ago where Manchester United finished the season with a lacklustre game against Hull City but the beginning of pre-season is now just around the corner.
Luke Shaw is one player who will certainly be looking ahead to the start of the year because he’ll be desperate to put his debut campaign behind him and look forward to the future.
The 19-year-old arrived at Man United in a £30m deal last summer but thanks to a succession of injuries, Shaw was never really able to settle properly at his new club. Instead, he spent more time on the sidelines.
It would have been an extremely frustrating campaign for Shaw but he can now concentrate on the upcoming campaign, where he will be determined to cement his place in Louis van Gaal‘s starting XI.

The fact United were willing to spend £30m on a 19-year-old is indicative of highly regarded Shaw is and after the departure of Patrice Evra, he looked like he could be the perfect successor.
That opinion hasn’t changed but Shaw has now got to prove himself next year after a tough start to life as a United player.
If Shaw can strike up a great partnership with Memphis Depay on the left flank, it could become one of United’s greatest assets next season. Here’s hoping that can happen.
