Javier Hernandez is recovering after successfully undergoing surgery on a broken collarbone.
The striker suffered the injury during Mexico’s Gold Cup warm-up match against Honduras in Houston on Wednesday night.
Hernandez has scored 40 goals in 73 appearances for his country and he will be a significant loss for the team.
The injury has also come at a bad time for the 27-year-old as his future at Old Trafford is far from certain.

Hernandez is not said to feature in Louis van Gaal’s plans for next season and United are reportedly looking to move him on this summer.
The likes of Liverpool, Inter Milan, Juventus and MLS outfit Orlando City have been linked with a move for the player, with United valuing him at £8m. However, with his injury and subsequent recovery it is unclear whether van Gaal will still be able to command that fee for him.
