A poll by Spanish publication AS has suggested that the majority of Real Madrid supporters want the club to sell Sergio Ramos following his continued flirtations with Manchester United.
Of the 25,000 Madrid fans who voted, 55 per cent indicated they would like the 10-times European Cup winners to sell Ramos, who has reportedly told the club he wants to leave for Man United.
The Spaniard is said to be unhappy with what he perceives to be a lack of respect from Madrid following his years of service.
Ramos had been negotiating a new contract with the club but talks broke down after the player fell out with the Madrid hierarchy.
United reportedly had a £28m for Ramos turned down this week and officials at the club are now said to be considering their options.
The situation has been complicated further by Madrid’s pursuit of David de Gea and it doesn’t look like there will be a conclusion to the sagas anytime soon.
It seems as if the Madrid fans are getting as fed up with the furore surrounding Ramos then United supporters are with the speculation surrounding De Gea. United start their pre-season tour of the United States in a matter of weeks and the hope is that the future of both players is much clearer by then.
