Fans’ view: What right-back should Manchester United sign?

by Ben Topliss

Manchester United have missed out on rumoured targets Nathaniel Clyne and Dani Alves in recent weeks and it is not immediately clear who they will look to bring in at right-back instead.

Louis van Gaal undoubtedly needs an upgrade in the position after Antonio Valencia put in a number of mediocre performances there last term.

Everton’s Seamus Coleman has been mooted as a potential arrival, as has Torino’s Matteo Darmian.

We asked our Twitter followers if they would prefer Coleman, Darmian or someone else entirely:

Of course, Rafael is still very much a Man United player but it seems he has been frozen out by van Gaal.

Nobody really seems to know exactly who United are and aren’t in for this summer, which is down to the good work that executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is doing at the club.

Supporters will just have to wait and see when it comes to potential signings, although some have understandably been getting worried at the lack of progress thus far.
