Manchester United have returned to Carrington this morning for the beginning of this year’s pre-season training.
New signing Memphis Depay will meeting his Man United team-mates for the first time, while Man United duo David de Gea and Robin van Persie have re-joined the squad with their futures still very much uncertain.
Louis van Gaal only has one week with his players before they fly out next Monday to embark on their pre-season tour, so it is likely to be an intense few days in order to give the squad a base level of fitness before the tour begins.
Depay is the only new arrival so far at United and he’ll no doubt be excited to get started straight away but fans are eager to see what other new players arrive over the coming weeks.

Up until this point in the summer, United have been relatively quiet in the transfer window. After the early arrival of Depay, that’s the opposite of what people expected and what Van Gaal would have wanted.
There is still plenty of time left in the window to shape the current squad ahead of the new season but Ed Woodward does have his work cut out making sure Van Gaal gets the team he wants in order to compete in all competitions.
