Memphis Depay arrived at Carrington this morning to train for the first time as a fully fledged Manchester United player after completing his move from PSV.
The 21-year-old has of course visited Carrington before in order to undergo his medical and conduct his first interview after a deal to sign him had been finalised.
Depay has worked with Louis van Gaal before having been part of the Netherlands squad which surprised everybody by finishing third at the World Cup in 2014, so he should be accustomed to his ways.
That being said, it’s a big day for Depay. This is the step up to an elite level club he would have been dreaming of all season and it’s now the time where the real hard work begins for him.
He excelled at PSV in the Eredivisie but that offers no guarantees of goals in the Premier League, so Depay has to put his head down and work even harder to succeed at United.
From his body language and the way he has described his work ethic so far, it doesn’t sound like hard graft is something he is scared of and that will put him in really good stead, especially under a manager like Van Gaal.
With only 11 days until the first game of the pre-season tour, it shouldn’t be too long before United fans get to see Depay play in a United shirt for the first time and excitement is already starting to build for that match against Club America.
