Nani admits he’s ‘very happy’ to be at Fenerbahce

Manchester United winger Nani has admitted he is very happy to be at Fenerbahce and is keen to get started on a new chapter in his career.

Nani, 28, arrived in Istanbul last night and is expected to undergo his medical on Monday morning before completing a £4.25m move to Fenerbahce.

Speaking to Fenerbahce’s official website, Nani thanked the fans for coming out to show their support and insisted he was ready to become successful once again.

“I really am very happy to be here now,” he said.

“I see this as a new opportunity in my career. This is an opportunity for me to show myself. I want to be successful.

“I’ve seen all these fans coming out for me and I was really happy. I want to show them my best football. I always do the best that I can.”

Nani paid particular attention to the Portuguese draw of Fenerbahce and cited that the likes of Bruno Alves and Raul Meireles will help him settle in quickly at his new club.

He added: “Fenerbahce are a club I have always known. Fener is a club that aims high. With the national team I play with Bruno Alves and Raul Meireles and it is very nice for me to come here and feel like I have family. I hope I can quickly fit in.”

Nani knew his time at United had come to an end when Louis van Gaal sent him on loan last season and still paid his full wages. Now, he is just hours away from completing that move and continuing his career away from Old Trafford.
