Andreas Pereira enjoys deserved holiday following U20 World Cup

A number of Manchester United players reported back at Carrington for the first day of pre-season training on Monday but Andreas Pereira is instead enjoying a break and rightly so.

The youngster played a starring role in Brazil’s U20 World Cup campaign, scoring a wonderful solo goal in the final against Serbia.

Unfortunately, he couldn’t prevent a 2-1 loss but it is clear for all to see that Pereira has bags of talent.

He is currently relaxing on holiday but Man United supporters will be eager to get him back amongst the squad as quickly as possible.

There have been murmurs that the arrival of Memphis Depay at Old Trafford could limit Pereira’s first-team opportunities but Louis van Gaal has shown during his time in charge of United that he is fully prepared to give all his players their chance.

Pereira will also be competing with Adnan Januzaj, but both players should get ample opportunity to impress now that United are back in the Champions League.
