Manchester United’s Angel Di Maria tore his hamstring while playing for Argentina in the final of the Copa America and he could be out of action for up to a month, according to a report from AS.
The midfielder limped off the pitch in the 29th minute and was replaced by Ezequiel Lavezzi as his side were eventually beaten on penalties by tournament hosts, Chile.
After a bright start to life in England, personal issues led to a dramatic dip in form from Di Maria after Christmas.
The 27-year-old ended up finding himself dropped to the bench more often than not having been replaced by the in-form Ashley Young.

If reports are to be believed and the injury scare is true, it seems to be a case of things going from bad to worse for Di Maria. He would have been hoping to hit the ground running for United next term so the injury will come as a blow.
Di Maria seems desperate to prove his critics wrong and recapture the form that so often lit-up the Bernabeu in in his final season at Real Madrid. After seeing his wonderful performances in the Copa America, United fans know full well that the Argentine possesses the quality to shine. The hope is that it is only a matter of time until he does so in front of the Old Trafford faithful.
