Matteo Darmian signs contract with Manchester United ahead of transfer – report

Torino right-back Matteo Darmian has signed a contract to join Manchester United, according to Gianluca di Marzio.

The Italian has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford for a number of days and the situation has progressed rapidly.

Darmian will be Man United’s second signing of the summer after the club announced a deal for Memphis Depay in May.

United leave for their pre-season tour of the United States on Monday and it looks like they have stepped up their transfer business so they can get players in and settled.

Louis van Gaal is reportedly hopeful of securing the signature of Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin soon while United have apparently submitted an offer for Bayern Munich’s Bastian Schweinsteiger.

Meanwhile, Robin van Persie looks to be on his way out of United having reportedly agreed a deal with Fenerbahce. Darmian’s arrival will also intensify speculation surrounding Rafael and Galatasaray are said to have already registered their interest in him.
