Real Madrid keeper Iker Casillas agrees Porto move

Porto have agreed a deal to sign Spain goalkeeper Iker Casillas from Real Madrid.

Casillas has enjoyed a superb 25-year career with Madrid, during which time he won a whole host of trophies at the highest level.

The Spaniard reportedly said goodbye to his former Madrid teammates on Saturday morning at the club’s training ground.

Manchester United’s David de Gea has long been linked with a move to Los Blancos and Casillas’ departure will only serve to intensify the speculation.

However, there have been suggestions that Madrid could instead go for Espanyol’s Kiko Casilla as a short-term option while they wait for De Gea’s contract at Man United to expire next year.

This is due to United playing hardball in negotiations for the 24-year-old. As far as the club is concerned, De Gea will not be leaving Old Trafford unless Sergio Ramos moves the other way.

It looks more and more likely that Madrid will sign De Gea but the hope for United fans is that he gives the club another year. After all, United did help transform him into one of the best keepers in the world.
