Manchester United have rewarded midfielder Joshua Harrop with a new two-year contract, according to MailOnline.
Man United have tied down Harrop following a number of fine performances last term and he is now expected to join the rest of the senior squad on the pre-season tour of the United States of America.
The squad is scheduled to head Stateside on Monday and the youngster will be delighted to book a place on the plane.
Louis Van Gaal recently told the media that he was looking to take youngsters on tour with him and it seems as if he is sticking to his word with Harrop.
The 19-year-old is an energetic, box-to-box midfielder who has caught the eye while playing for United U21s.
Harrop, who was born in Stockport, will be looking to carry on United’s tradition of bringing through local, homegrown players.
United have found success in the likes of James Wilson and Paddy McNair and Harrop also has a clear path to the first-team laid out for him. He will know exactly what he needs to do to break into van Gaal’s squad and will be hoping that the tour is just the start of a long and successful career at United.
