Manchester United defender Jonny Evans is a transfer target for Arsenal, according to the Mirror.
Evans struggled for form under Louis van Gaal last season and he was often criticised following a number of sub-par displays.
He eventually received a six-game ban in March for spitting on Newcastle United’s Papiss Cisse.
Despite this, Arsenal, as well as West Bromwich Albion are keen on securing Evans’ signature. He would be available for around £10m.
The large majority of United fans are agreed that Evans simply isn’t good enough and that the club would do well to get a sizeable fee for him.
Instead, United are said to be looking at world-class talents such as Nicolas Otamendi and Sergio Ramos.
Van Gaal’s side suffered at the back last season and it is doubtful that Evans would be able to turn things around and help solve the problem. His departure would likely be for the best.
