Based out of Seattle Seahawks’ training facilities, Louis van Gaal put his squad through their paces and upped the intensity in order to start working on fitness ahead of Friday’s game against Club America.
Both Depay and Schweinsteiger are new to Man United this summer and share some similarities in their careers to date.
Depay was at PSV from when he was 12 and Schweinsteiger was a Bayern Munich player up until this summer since he was just 13. They are very much loyal players and that’s a great trait to have.
Having an experienced head like Schweinsteiger to talk to will really help Depay in his development.
He has aspirations of being the best player in the world and who better to learn from than a man who has won almost everything that football has to offer, including lifting the World Cup as captain of Germany.
They are at different ends of their careers but both have been brought in by Louis van Gaal to help shape a squad capable of winning both the Premier League and Champions League.
It’ll certainly be interesting to see how well they can compliment and help each other at United.
