Schneiderlin is a classy player who is similar to Michael Carrick in the way he uses the ball while Schweinsteiger has built a reputation as one of the most gifted midfielders of his generation.
We asked our Twitter followers for their thoughts on what their first-choice midfield would now be:

@PeoplesPerson_ can't look past Schweinsteiger, Schneiderlin and Herrera. Carrick, Blind and Mata mean we have great depth. Very exciting.

Louis van Gaal will have a headache deciding which of his midfielders to start next term but it is a fantastic problem to have.
The Dutchman often had to ask Wayne Rooney to play in the middle of the park last season and the team suffered as a result.
Schweinsteiger’s capture, in particular, sends out a real statement of intent to the rest of the Premier League. United are a force to be reckoned with once again.
