Memphis Depay has been chosen as Europe’s top young talent by French Football magazine.
The 21-year-old Dutch winger exploded into life last year after a strong 2014 World Cup and scored a magnificent 28 goals in 40 games to help PSV lift the Eredivisie title.
His performances made him one of the stand-out performers in Europe all season and French Football have gone one step further by choosing him as Europe’s best top talent.
Depay was chosen ahead of the likes of Raheem Sterling and Alen Halilovic, so it’s a testament to how well Depay did last season to earn this accolade.
As well as Depay topping the list, United had other representatives in there also
Luke Shaw, who became United’s eighth most expensive signing in July 2014, comes in at No.38 on the list. Adnan Januzaj, who will remain at the club this season despite rumours of a loan deal, comes in at No.41.
Louis van Gaal is a manager who has no problem giving young players a chance to shine and is building his team around some of the best young players in the world.
