Louis van Gaal has confirmed Marcos Rojo, Angel di Maria and Javier Hernandez will join Manchester United’s pre-season tour on July 25th having received extra time off after representing their countries in international competitions this summer.
The 26-man squad which flew to the United States this week will soon be joined by their teammates to continue their preparations ahead of the new campaign.
Mexico striker Hernandez is currently recovering after undergoing surgery on a broken collarbone, while Rojo and Di Maria took part in this summer’s Copa America with Argentina.
The versatile Rojo will be a vital part of United’s defence next season as he can play in both the left-back and centre-half positions.
Meanwhile, there is a question mark over the futures of Hernandez and Di Maria as they have been linked with moves to Sevilla and Paris Saint-Germain, respectively.
Di Maria and Rojo were named in the Copa America’s best XI and will be a welcome addition to the squad over the next couple of weeks. United fans will be hoping Di Maria stays as he has proved he is a world-class player.
