There has been a flurry of excitement over new Manchester United signing Bastian Schweinsteiger but Louis van Gaal made supporters wait for his debut against Club America.
The German came on for the second half and looked calm and assured in possession as Man United sealed a 1-0 victory.
It is still hard to believe that Schweinsteiger is actually a United player given his years of loyal service to Bayern Munich.
He looked fantastic in the red shirt and it is a sight that fans will still be pinching themselves over:

There have been suggestions that the 30-year-old is too old to be effective at Old Trafford but there is no doubt that he is still a world-class player.
Louis van Gaal coached Schweinsteiger at Bayern between 2009 and 2011 and he will know exactly how to get the best out of the midfielder. It truly is an exciting time to be a United fan.
