Bastian Schweinsteiger was delighted to have made his Manchester United debut and admitted it was a great feeling.
The German midfielder played the second half of Man United’s opening pre-season game against Club America and immediately showed fans what he is all about with a very measured performance.
Schweinsteiger ended his 17 year association with Bayern Munich having completed a dramatic move to United last week and has immediately started off by making all the right impressions with fans, on and off the pitch.
He controlled the game against Club America when he came on and you can see exactly why Louis van Gaal wanted to sign him because his leadership qualities shone through. At one point, Schweinsteiger was helping Andreas Pereira and also barked instructions at Anders Lindegaard despite the fact he has only been at United for a week.

Every title winning team needs leaders but United had never really replaced the likes of Rio Ferdinand, Patrice Evra, Nemanja Vidic and Ryan Giggs. Now, Schweinsteiger looks like he can take up that role.
United’s second game of the pre-season tour is coming up against San Jose Earthquakes and fans are certainly hoping that Schweinsteiger will make his full debut from the start.
