Both Schweinsteiger and Darmian made their debuts against Club America last week as Louis van Gaal looks to integrate his new signings into the squad.
Darmian demonstrated both his attacking and defensive qualities against Club America and showed Man United fans what he’s all about in terms of being an all-round defender.
Speaking about Darmian, Schweinsteiger was quick to praise various facets of Darmian’s game and spoke of his admiration for the 25-year-old’s style of play.
He said: “Matteo is a typical Italian but I love that! You can see that he is tactical, he is very good and he is so fast. I think these two are very good transfers for Manchester United.”
Schweinsteiger is more than certified to give his opinion on right-backs having spent the majority of his career playing alongside Phillip Lahm at Bayern Munich, who many regard as one of the best right-backs in world football.
With Schweinsteiger giving his seal of approval over Darmian, United fans can rest assured that they have an outstanding right-back in their ranks. Players such as Schweinsteiger do not give out praise easily and having played alongside the likes of Lahm, Darmian will only have been compared to the best.
United fans will hope that Darmian can adjust quickly to the Premier League and show some quality in what was a weak spot for the team last season.
