From Spain: Pedro Rodriguez wants Manchester United move

by Sam Peoples

Spain’s El Confidencial are extremely confident that FC Barcelona’s Pedro Rodriguez is on his way to Manchester United.

They say that the ‘operation’ is already underway to bring Pedro to Old Trafford and believe his future points towards Manchester in a move that will happen sooner rather than later, with United leading the race to sign him. His fate is to ‘wear a United shirt’.

Continuing on, El Confidencial say that Pedro wants the move and Louis van Gaal has identified him as a perfect player to bring in following the exit of Robin van Persie. Furthermore, Barcelona are believed to be waiting for a concrete offer which is expected very soon.

Citing Pedro’s side role under Luis Enrique and driven by a desire to front and centre for Spain in Euro 2016, Pedro reportedly wants this move to happen and the fee quoted by El Confidencial is between €25-30m.

They’re some very bold claims from El Confidencial who are almost certain that Pedro will soon be calling Old Trafford his home.

Normally, articles like this are somewhat ambiguous given the nature of the transfer window and its uncertainty but there is only one thing to be concluded from this piece – Pedro’s move to United will happen sooner rather than later.

Pedro is a cracking player. He has always been somewhat in the shadows of Barcelona’s other stars such as Lionel Messi and now Luis Suarez and Neymar but in terms of talent, he’s got so much to offer.

If El Confidencial’s confidence is anything to go by, Pedro will be holding up a United shirt very soon and with Louis van Gaal admitting he is after a new striker, could Pedro be the attacker who completes the team?

What do you think about Pedro? Is he the sort of signing who Manchester United should be making?
