Rio Ferdinand urges David de Gea to stay at Manchester United

Rio Ferdinand has sent David de Gea a message about his future – stay at Manchester United.

Ferdinand, who has 796,000 followers on Instagram, has posted a series of videos giving his opinions on all the latest news in the world of football in recent weeks and this time, he’s had his say on the future of De Gea.

Staring straight at the camera, Ferdinand sat in his car with “Please don’t go” playing in the background on his radio and the message to De Gea was clear.

The Spanish goalkeeper has been embroiled in a transfer battle between two of the biggest clubs in the world that doesn’t seem to have a simple resolution.

De Gea wants a move to Madrid but United are not willing to let him leave without getting Sergio Ramos in return.

Real Madrid issued a statement saying they do not sell their captains but that did little to kill the transfer speculation.

De Gea has been injured for United’s two preseason games so far, which has only gone to fuel transfer talk.

Sergio Romero is reportedly close to signing a three year deal with United and could serve as a backup to either De Gea or his replacement should a deal be made with Madrid for his services.
