Manchester United transfer roundup: Sergio Romero ‘done deal’ claims continuem conflicting reports surrounding Angel di Maria

Here is the latest Manchester United transfer news and gossip.

Sergio Romero is now a Man United player, or so say Gazzetta Dello Sport. As covered by Sport Witness, yesterday’s claims that Romero has been signed by United have been followed up in print.

There were confusing reports regarding the Angel di Maria saga on Thursday, with initial reports from beIN sports suggesting that talks between Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain regarding a potential transfer had broken down.

However, this was followed by claims from RMC that negotiations between the two clubs had not stopped. Instead, PSG are said to be waiting for a response after making a €65m bid.

Di Maria has been ‘close’ to a move to France for a number of weeks now and it is safe to say that Man United fans just want the issue resolved as quickly as possible ahead of the new campaign.

Elsewhere, Real Madrid manager Rafael Benitez insisted that Sergio Ramos will not be leaving the club.

The centre-back has been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford but Benitez’s comments appear to put the rumours to bed. This was also the case with Thomas Muller, as Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge ruled out selling the player.

United were given hope over their pursuit of Barcelona’s Pedro, however, as Sergio Busquets admitted the forward could leave the European champions. He would be a more than capable replacement for Di Maria if the Argentine does end up leaving.
