Angel di Maria, Marcos Rojo and Javier Hernandez are all joining up with the rest of Manchester United’s squad ahead of the game against FC Barcelona.
It means Louis van Gaal will have his full contingent out in USA apart from any other new signings he wanted to make between now and the closing of the transfer window.
While Rojo’s return is a positive because it gives United a much needed option at centre-back, there are question marks over what happens next for both Di Maria and Chicharito.
Di Maria is at the centre of intense speculation with Paris St Germain looking keen to bring him to Ligue One a year after originally planned.
United fans would dismiss any Di Maria rumours out of hand at the start of the summer but Van Gaal’s comments at his pre-Barcelona press conference were indicative of how much the pendulum has swung for the Argentinian, because you can tell United are now considering selling him.
There is expected to be developments over Di Maria’s future this weekend, so we’ll keep you informed if anything happens.
As for Chicharito, he seems to have been given a new lease of life by Van Gaal.
The United boss has said the Mexican striker will have another chance to prove himself this season, which is more than most fans thought he would get.
If the 2011/12 Chicharito can return then fans will welcome him back with open arms but we haven’t seen the best of him in years, so now is the time to step it up if he gets any opportunity on the pre-season tour.
