Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea made his long-awaited return to club action in the 3-1 victory against Barcelona.
The Spaniard kept a clean sheet for the hour he was on, making a good save against Sergi Roberto when he was clean through.
Luis Suarez managed to beat De Gea on two occasions, with the post coming to the ‘keepers rescue both times.
Amidst speculation that De Gea could be close to a move to Real Madrid, the 24-year-old stayed professional and put in a good shift.
He will be looking forward to regaining full fitness following a minor back injury, in time to face Tottenham in two weeks time.
It is safe to say Man United fans were happy to see their first choice goalkeeper back in action and they made their feelings known:
Marca headline tonight:"Florentino Perez goes cold on de Gea and turns attention to £20m rated goal posts."

Interesting if De Gea did go before Spurs (unlikely). Would seem Sam Johnstone would be temporary number one over Lindegaard & obvs Valdes.

Quite ironic that David de Gea is in goal for a team in white versus Barcelona. Something he should get used to perhaps..?

With PSG next up on Wednesday, De Gea will be hoping for another solid performance. With the start of the league season not far away, De Gea must look to resolve his future, at least for the coming season and focus on the season ahead.
