Sergio Romero has been officially unveiled as a Manchester United player.
Pictured alongside Louis van Gaal out in America, the former Sampdoria goalkeeper was all smiles having completed his move as a free agent after being released by the Italian club.
It’s another systematic signing from Van Gaal in what has been an excellent summer of transfers so far by the club. Romero will immediately replace Victor Valdes in the squad and could end up becoming Man United’s new No.1 if David de Gea does end up leaving.
With experience of playing underneath Van Gaal in Holland, Romero comes into United with some knowledge and understanding of the boss’ philosophy and that will help him settle down much quicker at the club.
We’ll bring you pictures of Romero meeting his new team-mates on tour as soon as they are released but in the mean time, here’s a small gallery of Romero holding his United shirt for the first time.
