Louis van Gaal intends to complete another big Manchester United signing

by Sam Peoples

Louis van Gaal has been busy in the summer transfer this time around with four new signings arriving at Manchester United but if he has it his way, they won’t be the last.

Man United’s lack of firepower up front and lack of centre-backs who can be relied on for a whole season mean there is lots of room improvement for the squad and despite spending heavily in the current window, Van Gaal is keen to bring in at least one more big signing.

“We only have a better balance of the team,’ Van Gaal said.

“It’s not my Manchester United yet.

“Why? Because we have to look for more balance in the team and for more creativity. For example, Chelsea have Eden Hazard, Willian and Oscar. There is a lot of creativity there. Manchester City have Sergio Aguero, it’s the same type.

“Barcelona has Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez. We have to look also for that kind of player.
‘We look for more creativity and when it is possible to buy for a reasonable price players from that level we shall do that.

“You can expect things from Ashley Young. He had a fantastic season. But he is not a Neymar and we have to compete with that kind of class.”

As always, Van Gaal is refreshingly honest in this interview and makes it clear how he wants a big name creative signing up front between now and the end of the transfer window.

However, it is one thing wanting to make a blockbuster signing but another altogether making it happen and that’s the situation United find themselves in.

From Thomas Muller and Karim Benzema to Robert Lewandowski and Alexandre Lacazette, United have been linked with every conceivably available this summer and Van Gaal’s will do comments but help intensify those reports.

United are a striker and a centre-back away from having an almost complete squad and it sounds like Van Gaal has every intention of plugging those holes if possible this summer.
