Bastian Schweinsteiger gave Manchester United a boost by returning to training ahead of the game against Paris St Germain.
He missed Man United’s game at the weekend against FC Barcelona with a ‘minor injury’ and has recovered enough to take part in in first-team training.
His absence from the Barcelona game was considered a precaution more than anything else but with the Tottenham Hotspur game only a couple of weeks away, Louis van Gaal will be keen for him to build up as much fitness as possible, so a start against PSG is the perfect way to do that.
United fans are eager to see Morgan Schneiderlin and Schweinsteiger in the same XI together and whether they can compliment each other’s style of play.
Van Gaal is hopeful Schweinsteiger will be fit to play on Wednesday and so are fans because he needs as many minutes as possible if he is to be available for the game against Tottenham Hotspur.
