Schneiderlin started his career at Strasbourg and helped Southampton rise from League One to the Premier League before joining Man United this summer.
The Frenchman is widely regarded to be one of the best midfielders in the league and his signing has been hailed as a coup.
Schneiderlin revealed he is ready to rise to the challenge of playing for United.
“I am not the finished product; I am just 25, which is the middle age for a professional footballer,” he said.
“Training week-in and week-out with these players [Schweinsteiger and Carrick] helps you learn and improve your game. I’m ready for it.”
Schneiderlin has enjoyed some fine performances during United’s pre-season tour of the United States, which bodes well ahead of the new campaign.
Along with Schweinsteiger, Carrick, Ander Herrera and Daley Blind, Louis van Gaal finally has some midfield options at his disposal. The experienced coach now has to sort out the attack and defence, with a world-class centre-back and a striker needed if United are to challenge on all fronts next term.
