Memphis was once again deployed in a No.10 role behind Wayne Rooney and he remained there for the entirety of the game. The Dutchman linked up with Rooney well but neither could finish their chances. Memphis did get the chance to showcase his ability from set-pieces but his effort from a first half free-kick was well saved.
Man United struggled against the French champions and saw less of the ball as the game wore on. As a result, Memphis was less involved in the second half. Despite some intricate play around the PSG box, he struggled to unlock a tight defence.
Despite this, United fans and pundits were pleased with Memphis and his partnership with Rooney in particular:
Rooney and Depay combo certainly has promise #mufc MUtour

Enjoyable first half at Soldier Field. United look good going forward (some nice link up play between Rooney & Depay) but dodgy at the back

More Rooney and Memphis link up, shot rushed in the end and an easy save #DEVILSonTour

@Memphis's free-kick taking ability is brilliant.

With pre-season now over, Memphis will be looking to work hard to get ready for the start of the new season.
After some eye-catching performances on tour, a lot is expected from him but the youngster’s confidence should set him up well for an impressive debut campaign in the Premier League.
