Manchester United are finally back in Premier League action in just over a week’s time, when Tottenham Hotspur visit Old Trafford in the opening game of the season.
Having returned from their pre-season tour of the USA, recording three wins and the solitary defeat, Man United’s focus must now turn to the Premier League.
Louis van Gaal has already given fans an insight into his line-up. The manager confirmed that Luke Shaw, Matteo Darmian and Daley Blind would all be starting against Spurs, which could see Phil Jones fill in at right centre-back. The same back four started all four of United’s pre-season games.
Ander Herrera may not have got as much game time as he would have liked during pre-season but he was exactly the sort of player United missed against PSG. Playing him further forward as part of a midfield three could be an option for Van Gaal.
Many fans have been wanting to see Memphis play out wide rather than at No.10 and with Herrera in the side they could get their wish.
What do you think about this starting XI vs Spurs? Will fans finally see Memphis Depay in a wide role?
