Manchester United transfer roundup: Developments in David de Gea saga

by Ben Topliss

Here is the latest Manchester United news and gossip.

There was confusion surrounding the future of David de Gea on Saturday, with AS claiming that Louis van Gaal is ready to sell the Spaniard to Real Madrid.

However, these claims were later rubbished by MailOnline’s Mike Keegan, who insisted Man United are still adamant that De Gea will not leave unless Sergio Ramos goes the other way.

That particular saga doesn’t look like it will be resolved anytime soon but the one involving Barcelona’s Pedro looks to be reaching a conclusion. Various reports claimed that the player has told his mother that he will be moving to Old Trafford.

According to Sport, Pedro has agreed terms with United and is just waiting for the two clubs to put the final touches on a deal. He will make his last appearance for Barcelona in the Gamper Trophy on August 5th.

Meanwhile, Javier Pastore is the latest Paris Saint-Germain player to comment on the strong rumours that Angel di Maria is set to move to France. Pastore revealed that he has spoke to his compatriot about life in Paris.

Finally, there were notable developments regarding a pair of Brazilian right-backs. The first one, Palmeiras’ Joao Pedro, is reportedly the subject of a €4m bid from United, while Rafael is set to finally exit the club for Lyon.
