Club president: Manchester United target Pedro tells family he’s moving to England

Jamie Lorenzo, the club president of Spanish side Raqui San Isidro, has revealed that Barcelona forward Pedro is on his way to England.

According to Lorenzo, Pedro’s mother told him that her son is leaving in search of regular first-team football.

The Spaniard has been linked with a move to Man United for a number of weeks and having been earmarked as a replacement for Angel di Maria.

Lorenzo, who seems to have ties with Pedro’s family, confirmed that he is set to leave Barcelona for pastures new.

“The other day the mother of Pedro told us that he is leaving for England. I think it would be a good challenge for him and he would have more minutes,” he said.

The comments will excite United fans but Lorenzo didn’t specifically state that Pedro will be moving to Old Trafford.

He has been linked with Chelsea, but it has looked like United are leading the chase for his signature recently. Pedro is a fantastic winger and, if the rumoured transfer fee of £22m is to be believed, is a bargain. He should be more than capable of fitting into Louis van Gaal’s philosophy.
