A number of new signings have brought a fresh wave of optimism to Manchester United.
However, there is a sense amongst supporters that Man United still need to bring in one or two world-class players if they are to step up to the next level and win the Premier League.
We asked our Twitter followers if they think United can win the league and, if not, what more they need to do:
@PeoplesPerson_ no chance. If we don't sign a striker and CH you could argue we are weaker than last season.

@PeoplesPerson_ replace de Gea with Lloris; ditch Blind at CB for Smalling; possibly look about a CB; Pedro in for di Maria.

@PeoplesPerson_ not unless we buy at least 1 WC CB and a striker

@PeoplesPerson_ Unfortunately not. Chelsea still favourites, but United should be good enough to fight for 2nd, and close gap to first.

@PeoplesPerson_ Yes, but outside chance without a commanding centre back and a striker who scored 25 goals a season.

@PeoplesPerson_ if we don't sign at least one CB if not 2 then we will NOT compete for the title

It’s fair to say that fans are pessimistic about United’s chances but a new signing or two could definitely change their minds.
Louis van Gaal spoke last month about not having a player such as Neymar, Sergio Aguero or Lionel Messi at United and he is on the lookout for a star name. Bayern Munich’s Thomas Muller has been mooted as a potential incomer, as has Barcelona’s Pedro.
