Manchester United were last night handed a Champions League draw boost as Rapid Vienna knocked out Ajax in their third round qualifier.
While Man United weren’t ever able to face Ajax, Rapid Vienna’s win means that a tie against Sporting Lisbon can no longer happen.
The Portuguese side were one of the tougher games who United could possibly face so it’s a welcome boost ahead of the draw on Friday where Louis van Gaal will find out who stands in his way of the Champions League group stages.
Here are the remaining potential teams who United could still play against:

There are still some tricky ties in there including Fenerbahce, who have recently signed Robin van Persie and Nani, as well as Italian side Lazio as Rome is never an easy away trip.
Regardless of who United draw on Friday, they will go into the two-legged Champions League qualifier as the overwhelming favourites and rightly so.
Returning to the Champions League was the priority last season and a fourth placed finish in the Premier League secured a play-off spot.
Now, United simply cannot afford to mess up the qualifier and miss out on Europe’s elite competition for the second year in succession, so Van Gaal will certainly be hoping for a favourable draw.
The Champions League qualifier draw is on Friday 7 August at 11:00 BST.
