Shaw seems to be taken by Schweinsteiger and his aura around the dressing room.
The unassuming German has won everything there is to win in international, European and domestic competition and he brings a wealth of experience to Man United.
Whether or not Schweinsteiger can stay fit or not is up for debate but Shaw believes just having him around the dressing room is a bonus.
“He’s a massive legend. For someone with that much experience to come into the team will be vital to help us push for some trophies this season,” he said.
“He’s one of the most humble guys I’ve come across. He’s not not too loud and he’s quite funny at the same time. It’s nice to have a German around in the dressing room.”
Schweinsteiger is a hard working midfielder but he has suffered with knocks for the last three years of his career. Pep Guardiola recently spoke about how good the German could be for United if he can manage to hold off injury.
There is little doubt as to what the midfielder can bring to United and if he trains with care and manages his workload during the season, he can undoubtedly feature in most of the club’s fixtures this year.
Schweinsteiger played in 28 matches last season for Bayern Munich, which included 20 games in the Bundesliga. This comes after a World Cup in which his Germany side made it to the final and won. A summer of rest and getting a chance to recover from any lingering injuries will be important for the German and he could have a massive impact for United this year.
