Bastian Schweinsteiger came on as a second half substitute for Manchester United against Tottenham Hotspur to make his competitive debut for the club.
The German midfielder slotted straight into midfield and wasted no time getting involved with some crunching tackles.
He can’t waste too much time trying to get used to life in the Premier League, rather than the Bundesliga, because the level is so much more intense and it was a decent cameo from Schweinsteiger against Spurs.
Just like Ander Herrera, it’ll be interesting to see what role Schweinsteiger is used in this season and in what capacity but the fact he came on as a substitute for Michael Carrick speaks volumes about what role Louis van Gaal wants him to play.
A big thank you to the @ManUtd fans for the warm welcome. I really appreciate your support!

Speaking after the game, Van Gaal paid particular attention to how loud Old Trafford was and how much they cheered Schweinsteiger’s ever touch, saying he would have never experienced that welcome before but that’s the United way.
Schweinsteiger? In a United shirt playing at Old Trafford? It still feels like a dream but it is a reality.
