Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge reiterates Thomas Muller isn’t for sale

Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has reiterated that Thomas Muller “is not for sale” amid rumoured interest from Manchester United.

Louis van Gaal is said to be a keen admirer of the German and Man United reportedly had a big-money bid turned down for him earlier this summer.

After letting Bastian Schweinsteiger leave for Old Trafford, it was always unlikely that Bayern would sell Muller too.

Rummenigge reaffirmed Bayern’s stance on Muller and poked fun at English sides for their spending during this transfer window.

“Muller is not for sale. Our English colleagues seem to be unable to spend all of their money,” he said.

In a further interview with Kicker, Rummenigge said: “Louis van Gaal is very stubborn. But there is no price for Thomas Muller.”

Muller is a world-class talent and one that Bayern would find very difficult to replace if they did let him go.

Although United have money to burn, there wouldn’t be any logical reason for Bayern to sell the forward. Van Gaal has instead turned his attention to Barcelona’s Pedro, who is expected to complete a move to United shortly.
