Louis van Gaal confirms Manchester United have no fresh injuries ahead of Aston Villa clash

Louis van Gaal has confirmed Manchester United have no new injury worries ahead of the clash against Aston Villa on Friday night.

Phil Jones, who faces a spell on the sidelines with mild thrombosis, is currently the only absentee for Man United.

The news will come as a relief to United fans as the team often had to contend with a number of injuries last season.

Players such as Bastian Schweinsteiger and Marcos Rojo are still working their way to match fitness but United should be close to full strength when they face Villa.

Keeping injuries away from the squad will be crucial if van Gaal’s side are to be successful on all fronts this term.

United went through a prolonged injury crisis last season and suffered on the pitch as the likes of Chris Smalling, Jones and Michael Carrick often picked up knocks. Van Gaal will be hoping for much better luck this time around.
