Morgan Schneiderlin keen to learn from Bastian Schweinsteiger at Manchester United

Morgan Schneiderlin is keen to learn from Bastian Schweinsteiger as Manchester United’s new signings settle into life at Old Trafford.

The two midfielders, who were signed on the same day of the transfer window, play in similar positions and have similar attributes on the field.

Schneiderlin understands the significance of having a player like Schweinsteiger in the squad and believes that while most of the attention might be on the German, the squad is full of exceptional talent.

The French international spoke highly of his new teammate recently: “Bastian is a guy who has won everything in his life. We speak on a daily basis, like any normal players would.

“I think we all look at him and want to learn something from him because he won everything.

“We’re all very happy to have his character at the club. I respect him and I want to improve. He is such a good player but it is not only him in the squad, there are a lot of good players who can play, a lot of players who can play this role. It is up to us to always give the best in training and learn from each other.”

Man United’s midfield has been a point of contention in recent times but with new signings Schweinsteiger and Schneiderlin to go with Ander Herrera and Michael Carrick, the centre of United’s midfield is in a fine state for the foreseeable future.

While all of the players mentioned bring something to the table, each of them boast an exquisite range of passing and patience that will be vital to United’s style of play this season.

It will be interesting to see how Louis van Gaal accommodates all of them but with Carrick and Schweinsteiger in the winters of their careers, it will give the younger talents a chance to shine this year too.
