Manchester United are keeping tabs on young Barnet striker Matt Stevens, according to ESPN.
Stevens has attracted interest from a number of Premier League clubs after he became Barnet’s youngest-ever player when he played against Alfreton last year aged just 16.
Now 17, he scored more than 50 goals for Barnet’s U18s side last season.
Manchester City have also registered their interest in the player, while Swansea City and Crystal Palace have both had bids rejected for him.
It would be no surprise to see Stevens brought into the youth set-up, although perhaps another season spent at Barnet would be good for him in the long-term. Meanwhile, Louis van Gaal’s immediate concern is United’s trip to Aston Villa on Friday night.
