Andreas Pereira has been called up for international duty with Brazil’s U23s side by national coach Dunga.
Other players called up include Barcelona’s Rafinha and Lazio’s Felipe Anderson, so Pereira is rubbing shoulders with more established players now.
The squad faces an upcoming friendly against France in September and for Pereira it is another indication of the excellent progress he has been making in his young career.
Pereira, 19, enjoyed a fantastic summer with Brazil at the U20s World Cup where he went all the way to the final and scored a wonderful solo goal but that was unfortunately not enough to overcome Serbia who won the tournament.

He carried that excellent form into the pre-season tour where he was one of Manchester United’s standout performers and he’s now getting regular call-ups to the Brazil squad.
It’s been an excellent 18 months for Pereira who is now part of Louis van Gaal’s first-team squad and his acceleration into the U23s squad, which Dunga has confirmed he’ll be looking at for next year’s Olympics team call-up, is another step in the right direction for him.
For the time being Pereira will be focused on this season with United and making sure he continues the hard work which has earned him so much opportunity in the last year.
