Adnan Januzaj has reiterated his desire to stay at Manchester United despite rumours surrounding his future.
The 20-year-old has been linked with a loan move away from Man United this summer as opportunities were few and far between last season.
However, Januzaj is determined to fight his way into Louis van Gaal‘s thinking.
Speaking ahead of United’s Champions League qualifier against Club Brugge on Tuesday, the Belgian opened up about life under van Gaal.
“Last year was last year, this year is this year,” he said.
“I’ve not played for a long time, so I was happy to score my first goal of the season. I’m happy to play and give everything for the manager and the club. I’m happy at United and I’m happy with the way the manager has worked with me, so I don’t have any issues with that.”
The winger scored United’s only goal against Aston Villa in his first start in six months last Friday night.
Januzaj’s hard work was rewarded with a start against Villa but van Gaal was still slightly critical of the midfielder’s overall game. However, it was a promising display and he will now look to maintain a regular place in the starting XI.
