Herrera was brilliant against Aston Villa on Friday but is unlikely to start against Brugge tonight, much to the frustration of many United fans who believe that his quality should merit a regular starting place.
However, there is a strong chance that at some point during tonight’s encounter. The Spaniard could be thrown into the fold by Louis van Gaal, who has offered an explanation as to why the 26-year-old isn’t starting matches.
The Spaniard’s excellent work rate, as well his superb range of passing, ensures that he is a nightmare for tiring opponents, but tonight is the sort of game where Herrera can be a real asset from the start.
