Bastian Schweinsteiger is ready for tonight’s Champions League qualifier with Club Brugge and can’t wait to play at Old Trafford once again.
He is already becoming a fans’ favourite after assured performances against Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa and fans are looking forward to seeing what he can do in the Champions League.
Old Trafford last witnessed Champions League football all the way back in April 2014 against Bayern Munich, a game in which Schweinsteiger scored Bayern’s equaliser, but Europe’s elite competition is returning tonight.
It’s a huge game for United after a one year hiatus from the Champions League and Schweinsteiger is in for a real treat when he sees Old Trafford absolutely rocking under the floodlights.

Many fans want to see the German make his first competitive start for United against Brugge. Schweinsteiger has featured in three Champions League finals in the past five years, and thus would bring a wealth of experience and level-headedness to what is likely to be a highly charged encounter.
Despite the fanfare which has greeted him, Schweinsteiger has been so far reduced to appearances on the bench amid fitness concerns. However, with this issue now apparently rectified, the 31-year-old could start in midfield alongside Morgan Schneiderlin.
That being said, a midfield partnership of Michael Carrick and Schneiderlin is growing in stature, so maybe Schweinsteiger will have to settle for a place on the bench again and come on with 30 minutes remaining in order to turn the screw on the opposition, a tactic used to fantastic effect against Villa last Friday.
