Thomas Muller, like so many others, has been linked with a move to Manchester United all summer.
At every turn, Bayern Munich have completed dismissed the rumours. CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has repeatedly said Muller is not for sale on more than one occasion but despite that, the 25-year-old continues to be linked.
Now, Sport Bild in Germany say this interest has now been taken further and their front page says United have made an official €85m bid.
In the current exchange market, that works out to roughly £60m which is a price that would make Muller the most expensive signing in United’s history, beating the £59.7m paid for Angel di Maria.

There’s no doubting that United have that sort of money, and that Van Gaal is a big fan of Muller and vice versa, but it is so unlikely Bayern would let another major name leave the club after Bastian Scwhweinsteiger joined United.
That being said, Rummenigge’s recent comments do suggest that Van Gaal has been sniffing around Muller this summer.
Van Gaal might have a defiant approach to the press when he is asked whether United need to strengthen up front but we are one injury to Wayne Rooney away from having Javier Hernandez as our first choice striker, and that says it all.
Muller would be by far and away the biggest signing of the summer if it happened, probably the biggest in the Premier League too, but even if United offered €85m for him, you get the feeling Bayern are simply not letting him go.
Do you think Thomas Muller has a price or is he unsellable this summer for Bayern Munich?
